About Me

In 2009, I took my first yoga class in high school as a senior elective. As an athlete, the poses drew me in because it reminded me of pre- and post-game stretches. From here, I periodically took yoga classes as a way to check-in with myself while getting a workout in. My yoga practice became more consistent when graduate school and life started to get real. At this stage in my life, I found myself in constant go-mode and less focused on my mental and spiritual well-being. So, I began to practice yoga more to remind myself to just breathe.

Practicing yoga has allowed me to notice where I am physically, mentally, and spiritually not just on the mat, but in life off the mat. Focusing on stillness or moving with my breath has allowed me to check-in with myself, exhale, build resilience, and importantly, remember who I am.

I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in March 2019 at M3Yoga in Athens, Georgia and and have been teaching as a certified instructor since May 2019. I teach vinyasa yoga and pre/postnatal classes, emphasizing mindful movement. My intention is to facilitate a mind-body experience that allows students to explore their bodies through a moving meditation. My practice and teaching style is not about getting our body into uncomfortable poses or perfecting the poses. My intention is to use the poses and conscious breathing to help get into our mind, body, and spirit in order to find mental clarity in the comfortable and uncomfortable realities of life off the mat.
